i have to say that over the years I've had good experience with different people but I've heard good and bad about everybody..
I always bring my stupid dumbarse Crossmax wheels to dirty james in The Bike Rack..come to think of it..any time I have had a difficult mechanical that my lumphammer can't fix I always bring it to The Bike Rack..
I remember I had a set of forks with a guntered in 20mm axle..between Al, Jim and John..they removed it and they gave it back good as new FOC..
A good mechanic won't give up until he fixes whats wrong with your bike, even if you go back to him irate at what you might think is a fail on their part..
its how these people deal with you when you are not a satisfied customer that makes them stand out..
Sometimes a popular bike shop can make a mistake or two but they are only human !!
I'm hearing a lot of complaining about different shops lately and people being let down by mechanics..both shop and back alley..but I've also heard great stories of customer service ..
Bike Mechanics are more religion than science anyway, especially for a good one..
if you have been let down..talk to the people you feel have let you down..I guarentee that if they are as good as you were led to believe then they will sort you out..
Bikes are ridiculously difficult to work on compared to cars and motorbikes..and experience is the only measure of a good mechanic !
