Hello, I need a person to come and film the EPIC Blast, you will be paid, it doesn't have to be fancy, I don't know how these things work, but surely a handy person with a couple of people co-ordinated with a few video cameras positioned strategically could video several of the heats and the final Blast..
I know the right person with the right talent could do this, any takers..
let me know Cheers Richie
Richie, stick a poster up in Dun Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design and Technology, some students would dig it as a project, and probably do a brilliant job.

myself and the Scrivo lad will have the helmet cams on the go so whoever you get can take that too, someone tell Mac not to sell his 'til after the Blast....
A friend of mine is a film maker and makes zombie movies, so he's filmed in forests, he might be interested, he is on honeymoon at the moment so ill ask him when he's back. That might make a good movie, mountainbiking zombies, heads getting stuck in wheels, branches in eyes, all sorts of things- fun gore- has it been done?....nevermind....the pic of mark t is scary and brilliant

ok basically, i will get loads of footage and get somebody to edit it..i'm not a fan of helmet cams and i want to get peoples reactions and the whole flavour of the event, I don't want special effects or zombies, just raw mayhem,

According to Gav's recent photo of Mark we already have zombies.
The music for this movie will need to be selected carefully. Too many mtb movies and videos have been ruined by ****e music.

ok as much as I appreciate the messing and the funny posts and all that, my patience has ran out.
I need commitment from people to do things, not yak on about them..

Maybe contact the guy that did the Colin Ross and Champs video, Honcho is it ?
Someone that understands bikes ....
~Actually, maybe a few filmers and one editor, it's impossible to get enough footage on your own.

can somebody co-ordinate the Video cameras..i will arrange the editing..but if we have enough cameras we can put it all together..and the music will be 70's rock and maybe some Sly and The Family Stone..don't even come near me with that modern junk..
and if anybody mentions the Ting tings..start galloping !!

if you have the date & times set the same on all the cameras ye should be in good shape - will make it easier for the editor to piece the runs together

Im not trying to drag this thing out but if you get all the camera people together on the morning and give them all a position on the track then when they start filming just print on a piece of card heats or blast and film the card and then the action.
Then when you have finished your disc or tape mark it with 1st heat or blast and position on the coarse and name and number and hand it over at the end of the day.
Then the editor knows the position of each camera and what race they were filming and can put it in order.

Hey richie, I have a bit of experience in the industry myself. I spent a year in thailand shooting a doc on Maui thai and Co directed and then cut the thing - also I teach multimedia and editing and all that lark. I can possibly get access to 3 Sony HD cameras with operators, - you may have to pay for tapes and a bit of lunch for the guys but I know a few that will do it. Ill try sort it tomorrow and get back to ya.
oh and if anybody wants to see the opening sequence to the doc its at:

also guys, you wanna watch out using loads of multi cameras, different resolutions will make the final piece difficult to edit. Ie , using hd, then normal [768/576 (PAL)]. - also helmet cams are good but they usually never bigger then standard pal rez [as above] so you have to stretch [ and grade] this footage
HD is a larger format and youll need a decent machine to sort it out. final cut pro, Premiere pro are cheap alternatives. Avid will also sort it.
On the camera guy, yep if booked 3 cameras and my man [Phillip] will sort 2 more operators, hes getting back to me with that - should be no problem. there may be a small fee for the 1st camera but the others will be free [richie if you wanna call me about this - please do. 087 9565318]
