Hi Richie what kind of age range is welcome as my 7yo has been asking me to take him to Balinstoe for a while. This gig would be great might pick up a few tips on coaching myself for when i get the rest of my brood out.
I know it starts at Ten but how long do you see it going on for ?

Thanks

Bren, from age whatever to age whatever..if they can ride a bike they are welcome..and we'll aim to finish by 1.00 but theres no pressure, they can split anytime Aidan Ryan and karl Thomas will be taking the under 14s and under 16's and any oversized younger ones.
Stewart Carr , Skippy and brian O'Neill will be assisting me with the Middle to younger ones
i have requested the attendance of a few younger superstars, and one middleaged has been but hey its a bit early for such delicate creatures but you never know..

This is still happening, i'll be down there anyway hoping it will have stopped.
If its like this though, keep them at home..but like everything weather dependent here. We'll just have to see..

what a turnout, 35 kids and desperate monsoon weather...
" your killing us !! " said one as we battled our way up the fireroad in the horizontal rain..
I have to say i've never been more impressed by a group of savages,
Myself ,BOn, Skip, Stew,Vinnie, Carol, and Charlie looked after the under 10's and Karl and Aiden looked after the u16s ..
Everybody ejoyed it, some future legends there that I can see..
Plenty of over the bar moments for the older ones, and a savage pace set by Olly and the 2 Carr boys in our group..we didn't challenge them enough..if the weather had been better we would have set out across the board walks and into Djouce..
watch out Beth ,there were a few young savage ladies out as well..
We'll be doing this once a month by the way...keep an eye on the forum for news.
Big thanks for the bars to The Bike King, Brian Conway..and to the parents who hung around in the rain.

Thanks Richie

Thats a pity we'll always go out, even for 10 minutes..raingear and a positive attitude is compulsory for living in Atlantis..
i was amazed so many turned up, but hey their kids, you can't really switch them off !! or convince them they won't get pneumonia !

Fair play to the little savages, I saw the rain and would not go out today in it.

What a day.Well done to all who took part and helped its very rewarding to pass on experience to the young sprockets. We set them a tough chellenge in our group and they all went for it riding well above their limits.I was blown away when they rode Bon and Roos gully elevation they had me worried as some of them had very little experience but no fear. One Kid said Wow they hav stuff here just like the freeride videos' he had no idea northshore existed in ireland .Guys were doing jumps without looking and never jumped before.I will chalk today down as one of my happiest and great mtb days.Hope some of these guys ride the mini blast they will love it.Anyone who dident make it today can look foward to next day out.

Looked out the window at about 8:30 and the rain was coming in sideways out in Swords. Didn't want to put the young fella off the sport so knocked it on the head.
It appears I made a big mistake sounds like a good day had by all.

you're a crazy person, if they're going to be mountainbikers in ireland, then they'll just have to used to the rain..
tell the truth, you were too chicken to go out in the horizontal rain, but there were five year olds up there skidding and jumping in the monsoon..
Now that we're all going to be poor again ,then they'll have to learn to ride bikes and make swings on trees and go swimming in the sea like we used to have to do in the bad old days..

Someone mention truth ! The truth is worse than that Richie. I am a kayaker too.
I know i'm a bad person
