Giant trance X1 '08

I was looking at buying a bike that i could jump a bit on and thrash down a mountain that requires body armour(more freeride than dh) but also want to be able to climb and do normal stuff without too much extra hardship. Would a giant reign 1 be too heavy? Would a giant trance X1 be a better all rounder,is there anyone out there thats ridin one?.............can anyone help,i need someone to guide me in the right direction,cheers!

Have a look at the LaPierre Spicey (or Zesty) as well. I'm finding it to be a superb bike, and its definitely helped me fly a little more. No problems climbing with it either, as its lighter than it looks.

I was in the same position a couple of months ago, it was either a giant reign 1 or a trek something or other, in the end i bought the giant and it's fockin deadly

It's only 29lbs has 6 & 6, super easy to climb on, brilliant on the descents.

I live in Squamish BC and ride the trails here, Whistler and the northshore all the time and this bike just keeps going, it's the one to get.

Rock out with your what out!! Just watch out for the red blur and trail of dust...that will be me, when I'm not playing with the setting on my new fork that is.
