anyone know if there's a place that hires-out petrol strimmers?
or better still has one to lend-out for a fee?
Needs to be the hardy type that will cut thru gorse/thick heather
It's for a gardening project for school ;)
the hire shop behind the bike rack (Hills Hire) has them
Get loads of strimmer wire, them bushes eat the stuff....

thanks Al/Don - I might give them a call to see if they'd be hardy enough to get thru gorse as they're usually for going grass verges etc...

Ask for strimmer with a metal blade. the string is useless

tell me about it, most hateful plant in existence,
two of us cleared 50m of the stuff with a pair of loppers,
and then there's the roots left behind

Nylon strimmer line is indeed useless for gorse but you may have trouble renting the metal blade type, the hire shops I tried don't carry them, something to do with safety regulations after someone lost a foot.
A petrol hedge trimmer might do the job.
What about one of these bad boys, as a bonus it also looks a bit like a gun...

nice toy Don, but I rang the pace beside Al and told them I needed to eff-up some gorse like REAL bad dude, and they said they could do me the blade version alright.
I'll wear my steel top-caps with it though Rob ;)

thats one of them yokes Colin wants to get, but our resident Harwdware Specialist Mr Wallace denounces them as not up to the job..the battery goes dead fast and its really only good for nice clean timber in your Barna shed..not gorse, which has the consistency of leather..Alien leather..

Try riding Flagellation Alley, the narrow trail from Kindlestown up to GOD, last time I was their it was full on naked priests riding up and down on unicycles.

you see some odd stuff Don, worringly, most of it in your mind...
if I rent one of those mommas I'm going on an all-day bender with it,
and why stop there?
Scobie MX'ers and wayward trees - your days are numbered...
