Banbridge Cycling Club is extremely grateful for all the kind words spoken about the Moneyscalp course, used for K-Capital round 2. For six weeks a small team worked every weekend to construct the course only for part of the course to be removed five days before the race due to damage done by torrential rain. Due to loosing part of the course we had to quickly add on the grass sections near the bottom of the course.
Thankfully the raceday went well, sorry about the cold wind. For me it was great to see the Paramedic being able to sit in his vehicle and complete the Times crossword. Since the race we have received many messages of support concerning the course, communications from all ages and abilities. I would just like to take this opportunity to thank all who supported the race and especially to those who took time to give us their views on the course. The plan now is to repair the section that you did not get to race on, it had 27 bridges! Hopefully the new course can be used for an NPS event in August.
Thankyou all,
Andy Potts on behalf of Banbridge CC
