I just seen this on another forum..

Sections of the Ballinastoe Mountain Bike Trails will be closed from Monday 21st January 2008 for a period of about three weeks. This is to facilitate the closing works which need to be carried out to ensure that the trails are finished to the highest quality standards. We would ask all trail users to respect the section closure and re-routing signs. Your cooperation with these temporary section closures will ultimately result in a better mountain biking experience.

the last singletrack before the carpark had a big mushy spot in it last week - apart from that everything else seemed peachy,
hopefully it'll be a bit less than 3 weeks before they finish it, we don't want the Clipe-ians finding their way to the other trails ;)
I'm sure I'll get the full story from The Minister tonight....

Certain Sections of trail within Ballinastoe are undergoing essential finishing work. Riding them at this stage will damage the surface causing ruts and further delay their final completion. We have been asked by all concerned in their development to make every effort to appeal to bikers to stay off these sections so they can be finished off properly. So please don’t ride these sections of track and if you see anyone else riding please ask them to stop. We have waited quite a while for purpose built tracks, another few weeks isn’t too much to ask.

The sections in question are section five and seven, and can both be avoided using the existing forest roads. They will be blocked off and will have clear notices on them, please avoid them as much as possible.

The sections in question are section five and seven,

Bonjour,

Which sections are 5 and 7 ?

Presuming 7 is the last bit, does that mean 5 is the section the crosses rail blazer and comes out on the doubletrack to the house ?

Thank you

no big guy from conversations with The Minister, it appears to be the section after the long bridge, not the section with the rocks and the next really fast section with the twisty bits..

No, no. Turn left at section 4, go past the tree on the right, then just before the intersection with section 8, after the rock that looks like Mother Teresa, THAT is section 5 (and 7), maybe.

Can't be as bad as the Ballyhoura trails though. Sections of them have gone missing and been replaced with stream crossings at the moment...
