Good stuff Robin - does this mean some of the secret trails a la What Mountain Bike (Aug 07)? Just can't figure out where some of those photos are...
Looking forward to this one!

those trails may or may not have been in djouce ;)
don't believe everything you read!!
have a few new bits and pieces to try there anyway, should open a better lap/loop in djouce for the future.

Nice one! I figure some of the secret stuff not to be in Djouce, based on the route description (vague as it is) and the pics. Nothing like a good mystery, eh? Either those trails are deadly or the lad that wrote that is a bit mediocre on his bike, I can't decide which.
Best €15 you'll ever spend, I'm working on a plan....
I have some friends who want to do this but they have never raced before, aside from the entry fee what will they have to pay?

they'll need a one day licence Joey (on sale at the race) - thinks it's 10 or 15 yoyo - can't remember exactly how much

Don - I do hope this plan of yours involves another of your legendary wooden jumps! MAD could make a video of themselves falling off it to the accompaniment of a relaxing sountrack.

Just a minute now Basil !!! >:( we at MAD....err...hang on...just after watching one of them...hmmm...yeah, maybe we could do that....
I thought you had to join cycling Ireland the first time and that also included your first oneday lisence. I have in my head that it was €30 for this?

that was 2006 you looney...we're back to multiple one day licences..don't ask !! so yes it will be €15 for the licence and €15 for the race entry

Yeah back to multiple one day licences, I'm doing a reduced entry fee of €10 for 'one days' so €25 in total; €15 Licencse + €10 race entry, since the one day is expensive.

Its only deadly if you make a mistake and fall off....
Djouce is in amazing condtion at the moment, so no sliddery moments really, dusty dry and set for dry weather tomorrow too. Wish I was racing it....

everybody should participate in this event..its a fantastic opportunity to ride around great trails with like minded souls..€15 for most of us or €25 for non licenced riders is a token sum to pay...no race pressure..i'd say it'll be so brilliant I'll have to do 2 laps..

Ha, only twice?! I'll still be doing it next week!
Oh wait, it'll still be my first lap, DOH!
Would anyone dissuade me doing this race? - considering the piece of crap i've been riding for the last month? I mean, i believe i've the fitness cycling those eco cabs 3-5 days a week. I am really concidering this - seriously!
