View Full Version : connaught xc league final round sunday 27th january
the first round of the connaught xc league is on in moorehall just outside ballinrobe on the 14th of october . all categories are catered for from under 10 up to expert . the league will run from october to march with about 10 rounds . a great way to keep the fitness levels up over the dark winter months or even to get fit for next years national league ! we are really trying to get mountain biking up and running in the west and your support would be greatly appreciated ! this is the third year of the league and we have some great trails and a high level of skilled riders .anyone need any info just ask me ! hope to see you all over here , fran .

I really enjoyed the race in Clarenbridge earlier this year - a whole new world of mud. I'll definitely make it down for a few more this year. Let us know well in advance when they're on though - only found out about last years league by chance.
Sounds good, anymore info Fran? or a web page with the intended races etc....

ok , anyone need any info ? ladies of epic , you`re very quiet ! there is a ladies category too ! poor sadhbh gets very lonely racing on her own so if you turn up and give it a go you`re sure of a podium finish :)

moorehall is about 10 mins from ballinrobe . the forest surrounds an old ruin landlord mansion on the foot of a lake . i think the course is the same as last year , about a ten minute lap 7or 8 laps ! it`s darren mc gann`s (handlebars) local trail richie ! he`s responsible for this one ! and we`ve got a round of next years nps but it will be held in galway ! so come over and see what you`re in for next year !
sign on from 11 . racing starts at twelve ! if people are coming we can arrange a meeting point and i`ll bring you to the course ?

Could you give a description of the course? Is it techie or not so much? Lot of mud expected or weather proof?

the course is only a 9 or 10 min lap . depends what you call technical ! short lap so anyone can get around . probably be muddy in the tunnel because it always is but the rest of the course should be ok !

The final round of the Connacht league is on this Sunday in Cong, Co. Mayo
Sign on at Cong Church car park from 12noon, youth racing starts at 12.39pm and seniors at 1.30pm.
Open to S1, S2, S3, J, V, L AND UNDERAGE, 8 years to 16 years, Boys & Girls
Tea and sandwiches in Danaghers Hotel afterwards.
